Can't know but Rubiano represents the Fappiano well on the broodmare side. Some Fappiano sons are also outstanding bm sires, with the occasional 'big horse'. Fappiano's line has been very effective in the Ky Derby and other 'stamina' races for young colts in the US. That Rubiano was a champ sprinter speaks to his overall ability, not necessarily just his tendency to run well short. I wonder if they tried him longer? Not unlike Dr. Fager and Mr. P who were brilliant but also passed on genetics for other aptitudes.
