Analysis?

Postby coolxcolors » Wed Jan 25, 2006 12:48 pm

I was wondering if you guys could help me decipher my gelding's pedigree.

I have no idea what any of that stuff means. I understand the basic pedigree, and recognize a few names..but all the letter and numbers and other things confuse me. Also, how do his lines look?

According to the APR, your horse is 23 years old.. congratulations!

Also, he appears to have been quite sound. He raced for four years, with a record of 54-7-9-6 and earned $56,586. He was a sprinter (races under a mile) and seemed to also be able to run in the mud.

The numbers on the pedigree relate to the dosage profile for the horse, a rating system that calculates and attempts to predict, based on select stallions within the pedigree, what type of racehorse is represented. Higher numbers on the left indicate speed, while higher numbers on the right indicate stamina. It is a somewhat outdated, very selective rating and not really meaningful, especially for the life your horse has now.
So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can.....
