A new photo of the sabino gray SNOWBOUND PAISLEY.

Postby Jorge » Thu Aug 11, 2005 3:19 pm

Its always interesting to see a photo of a sabino gray Thoroughbred, specially, if he is sporting high leg marking on all legs. Even if this is the case of a reknown friend.

Enjoy this photo of SNOWBOUND PAISLEY.

If you enjoy chestnuts more than grays, don't worry. I have one for you: El Compadre. Just logon to:

El Compadre was listed on CANTER So Illinois a couple of months ago.

Glad to see he's found a home, even if they are using him for color breeding.

Apropos Thoroughbred sires being used for color breeding, wouldn't be nice if we may be able to identify on a sire book every Thoroughbred sire who is serving out of racing circles? Image the great amount of lineages that we can keep track of.

Hey Jorge did you see the rabicano/sabino colt RFF Time Flies(Timely Roberto/Hint of Glitter by Glitter Please) further down on the page. They say that both of his parents are rabicano/sabino as well.

Hello Jorge!

lovely horse and he takes a great picture.
I have a question for you - exactly what is a sabino? And what classifies
a horse as being a sabino or having sabino markings?

Thanks.

Dear Nessa,

Thanks for your valuable note. Yes, I saw the data on RFF Time Flies, but passed it because this pedigree is fully loaded with bona fide sabino parents/ancestor, etc.

Blessings,

ooooooooo

Dear Nferro,

As per your question, please don't miss to read the first dozen pages on the section "History and Development of White Thoroughbreds" at:

Snow bound must throw all colors.. He is located about 60 miles from us and is the biggest thoroughbred stallion I have ever seen.. We have a yearling by him and he started out bay, then turned grey and now we are not sure what color he is but he looks like a grullo.. I guess time will tell. There is a picture of him on our website but it was when he was turning grey.. He is billy the yearling.. And yes he is the biggest yearling we have raised so far and out of a mare that has trouble throwing good size.
