Venus is weaned. We put the mare in a catch pen within the pasture for a few days and when I threw her back into the pasture with the filly while I cleaned the stall, the mare actually kicked her off several times.

she looks terrific! I find it fascinating how in such a short time a dam will go from not wanting the baby out of her site to not wanting them IN it... just goes to show there must be a mechanism in their brain that turns off that maternal instinct as fast as its turned on!
