He was the only speed in the race. There will be speed in Louisville; nobody is going to be allowed to cruise in front and win as they please. | you are like the older whiter republican sister i never had lol. |
Shall I adopt you? I have no brothers of any description. |

| Southern Equine picks up some nice well bred horses and knows how to breed them into commercial sales success. With Bode perhaps they are looking to develop a stallion syndicate for him in due time. Empire Maker gone and if this horse continues to hold value they might be onto something. Also supporting him with the possible likes of Better Than Honour, Beright and Maryfield (off the top of my head) might just work out well for him. They do have a lovely mare roster. |

Allen Bros. People come from two states away.
And thanks for all the info on the Beyers. I had a lot of questions about whether those were of any use. _________________ Somebody bet on the gray! |

If they do not retire BM this year and he does not get injured I Think he will be the next invasor/curlin type horse. I think he has that type of talent. I never said he wasn't a good horse. He's an excellent horse. I just don't think he's seasoned enough yet and the races that he has run in IMHO really haven't done much in the way of getting him seasoned. Running away from horses that are too slow to keep up with you isn't going to do you anything for what he is about to see next saturday.
If I had to make a wager on the classic winner right now I'm all in on him. By that time they won't want any part of this horse.
It took curlin remember what, like 8 races to really hit the next gear, he did not become "curlin" utnil the jockey club gold cup.
That was his 8th race and his 7th graded stakes race. _________________ "When the solution is simple, God is answering.”

Bodemeister isn't going to go the front and cruise with Trinniberg in the race. _________________ May 2013: Plan ahead now for the Phalaris/Teddy Centennial!

He could go 6 wide and keep dirt out of his face and just blow by inferior horses. My handicapping then wasn't what it was now but in retrospect the second he got that 2 hole I should have tossed him. He had no realistic chance to win that race with the little experience and bad post position. j
IMHO that was the brilliance of what dutrow did in the 08 derby he took the 20 post. he knew his horse was 10 lengths better than anything in the race so what if i lose some from the post keep him out of trouble he isn't getting beat even if i go wide.
That was the first time he had really just been roughed up in a race and he still ran a bang up 3rd considering the trip he got.
I would not be shocked if BM won because I think he is a very good horse, I just don't think it's going to happen becuase he is going to have too much to overcome and his last race made him look like a superhorse and while he has a lot of talent, he's not a superhorse, yet.
I dont' think he is going to get the lead, and if he does get the lead he's going to get cooked. If he doesn't get the lead and he's in the inside I don't think he will be able to handle the extremely rough trip he's going to get. IF he doesn't get the lead and he's on the outside he's going to have to travel very far to win the race and is going to have to sit off really good horses and is going to have to fight off even better horse coming to get him in the stretch.
The ONLY way I can see him winning is him getting the 8-12 post, most of the speed is inside of him and he can sit off of it and make a move in the turn. That's a lot of if's. _________________ "When the solution is simple, God is answering.”

I usually try to figure out who the last horse will be.
(Try it, it's harder than it looks!)
This year, I can make a case for every likely starter to finish last. _________________ May 2013: Plan ahead now for the Phalaris/Teddy Centennial!

Isn't one of the princpals in Southern Equine the "Sarge" on TVG? To buy into BODEMEISTER at this time says alot about the current TC thinking. Wonder what the buy in amount was?
Audley Farm in VA bred BODEMEISTER. It's an historic and beautiful farm near Berryville.
http://www.bloodhorse.com/horse-racing/articles/48384/audley-farm-honors-sir-barton
Now, it is also quite diversified. They have about 10 or more mares, but they also raise Augus cattle, breed English Mastiffs, and sell firewood. Not your typical TB farm by any means.
VA needs a breeding success. The state's industry is in the toilet without one top stallion to speak of and a track that operates TB racing for about 40 days annually. Even VT is getting lethagic with research.
Hell or high water, BODEMEISTER is my KD pick. He looks to be the real deal. Let's hope BODEMEISTER and his trainer stay healthy. |

You got to remember that Sir Barton after his breeding season wound up in the U.S. Army around my part of the woods. He didn't have a very successful career as a stud. That's why they used him as a mount for the Cavalry- I hope that BM does well, but I don't want him to end up like Sir Barton, Remember many stallions do... _________________ May the horse be with you! |

Karen: Things are so bad in VA, that even a sterile grade one stallion would be an improvement. |

He's got a nice pedigree.
I sure hope he does well though. Whats going on with Va? They don't have any stallions? _________________ May the horse be with you! |
