well whats the feeling on this guy now that his 2yo's are stretching out and really running well ? his stud fee has been reduced to 2,500 ! he bred 80+ mares last year ! i know freud rules for now in NY but this guy seems to have a pretty good upside....any thoughts ? _________________ A great man cannot help himself," "He can see things that other men cannot see themselves, and his greatness lies in doing whatever is necessary to make his vision real |

I kind of didnt think there were 80 mares in NY to go to him? He stood at McMahon's - no?
I thought the Adena horses they had would have got the majority of the mare population.
Will be interesting to see numbers this year with Vinery and Spendthrift boys on the block. |

| NY has a very tricky mare population.. It used to be (in my experience) the good mares got sent to KY stallions and a portion of them had to go back to NY stallions. Now with the influx of KY or KY quality stallions it will be interesting to see how many/who gets bred in NY and then goes elsewhere next year. Or if the stallions with KY connections are going to stay put in NY for the long run. |

| We've got one in our barn and she is on a roll. A filly named Oh Molly Brannigan. I beat her with my filly in a straight maiden. She was then dropped to M20 and won; then a 40 Starter and won; then a first condition allowance and won again. She's a Cal Bred and I never heard of Utopia so I looked him up and he's a drop dead gorgeous Forty Niner, standing in NY for $2500... |

| Yup, she is in the same barn with my horses under Andy Mathis. Andy does a great job. So glad to see him develop stakes horses. Hopefully my filly will play at that level in the future. |
