I like IHA, the little guy has alot of heart, and he's a beautiful horse. But a Triple Crown winner named I'll Have Another?!?! Why o why could he not have a better name.

Or Big Fat Loser. I hope that name hasn't ever been taken!
That makes me wonder how many owners/breeders of stakes horses have had naming remorse once they realized they had a seriously decent runner on their hands. |

The Belmont field is continuing to change...Alpha is out of the Belmont Stakes.
Guyana Star Dweej aborts a scheduled work midway through it, jockey says he didn't want to work?? Trainer says he works better in company....will await decision concerning Belmont after he tries again with company?? I think this Doodad guy better have the vet take a look at him and return to NW1/OT Allowance condition where he belongs. TJ |

On many occasions the names of the horses who compete in the Triple Crown series are, lets call it, foretelling. The best example may well be the year 1968.
This year, the horse who won the Kentucky Derby carries the name
ILL HAVE ANOTHER. Well, he went on to win the second leg of the Triple Crown with the Preakness Stakes. Now he attempts to win the Triple Crown. Hey, have you notice that there is a Belmont Stakes contender named UNSTOPPABLE U. Is this name foretelling the unstoppable triumph of the K/P victor or the triumph of the horse carrying the "unstoppable" name? The first alternative looks like the more
"wishful thinking" choice but don't discard anything. |

I wanted to name a colt Griffins Folly but my partner went ballistic.
Turns out Griffins Folly would have been appropriate.

| Looks like My Adonis may be added to the Belmont Field. They are preparing the field shortly and will post later this morning. TJ |
