With the scratch, Paynter now comes into the Belmont with a double Beyer advantage and two very good works. He has a speed advantage and I do believe you just might get 3-1, they have him to beat, and I do believe he will set the pace. I think 3-1 or better would be a gift with this horse. Good luck to all and a safe trip for all of them.

Hi DDT,
Yes, he could be OK...I may lean toward Street Life for the price, but waiting for the odds to decide...the B's may give him more focus and I respect his trainer...TJ

Hi bdw,
Nobody said this business is easy. The highs are the best but the lows can't be any lower. You have to be tough because tomorrow you will be up early doing the same thing all over again. Leroy Jolley said it best when he said "This game wasn't cut out for anybody wearing short pants" TJ

Well, I hate to eat crow, and when he ran the first 6 furlongs in 1:14 and change I thought Paynter was home, but Union Rags had enough when he needed it and wins. The place price on Paynter bailed me out, actually made a little money, but the prize was the exacta, a $2.00 box on the two most logical runners paid off at better than 7 to 1. A great race but very slow. I think the 85,000 that were there is a good crowd given the circus the 2012 Belmont turned out to be.

Hi Whirl,
You played with the dosage numbers that time :>)They were on the money in the Belmont Stakes...the top 4 dosage numbers ran 1,2,3,5 . Five Sixteen 2.00, Union Rags 2.14, Atigun 2.33 and Paynter 2.50. Dullahan was a throw out...he had the highest dosage, a 4.20. He will go long when they put him on the turf in the Va. Derby. TJ

I've always liked Union Rags. Seems like a good honest horse. And he's fancy to look at.
Although the star attraction wasn't in the race, it was nice to see Union Rags win it.
