Yes It's Friday is a daughter of Feels Like Friday, the full sister of Happy Ticket. She last raced (and won) in a $5000 claiming race at Evangeline in April, but I haven't noticed a work since then. I might've missed it, but I don't think so. I don't think she was claimed. Has she been retired? Injured? Her owner and trainer of record then were Michael Greer and John Prather, Jr.
I realize racehorses don't have nieces and nephews but she's basically in that slot for Happy Ticket whose only daughter died. I've been keeping an eye on Yes It's Friday, and I just want to know if there's reason to be concerned. She's by Yes It's True. I know Three Chimneys have a program for horses connected to them, but there are requirements that I'm not sure she meets. They didn't own the mare, but I wonder if they'd step in should she need help with placement, esp. given her family. I hope I'm overreacting with concern. You just get attached to certain horses. _________________ "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana"

| Heidi I appreciate your concern but info strictly off paper and recent is only speculation. Put the horse in your Stable mail and if you see no activity take it a step further based upon how involved you can get with this horse. |

I appreciate your effort to be helpful, but I'm past where you've encouraged me to go really. She's IN my stable mail. There's no more on paper info that I'm aware of beyond things like DRF and Equibase. I don't have pay services I can access. Some of you do. Others may know people to ask. She was last at Evangeline Downs--for all I know someone here works on the backstretch there, or they know the owner or trainer. Off paper info doesn't necessarily mean lacking in credibility. Current on-paper info is non existent, and I don't see how waiting more than 2.5 months for an update is gonna be helpful. She's not in the kind of position where a horse seems to be in relative safety. Plenty of horses vanish off the face of the earth in this sport and not because they ended up as someone's pasture pet.
Horses racing in $5000 claimers, even if they just won one, may not end up in the best circumstances. If she was retired and bred (there's certainly a possibility of that given the timing of her last race) it's not gonna show up til she foals. I'd rather not wait til next April or May to ask. Not sure that'd she'd go to the best stallions. Her dam's got a yearling by Curlin, but she's a full to Happy Ticket. I'm not sure people are banging down the door for broodmare prospects by Yes It's True who ran in claiming races. (I had a sneaking suspicion she'd do well with Flower Alley and it's an A nick but I doubt they'd get or try to get into his book.)
I can't "get involved" financially. I'm not in a position to. I just want to know in case there's a need to contact someone who can get involved. If she's fine and in a cushy situation, great. I'd like someone to tell me that. _________________ "Time flies like an arrow, fruit flies like a banana"

I have lots of horses in my virtual stable and many of them take long layoffs and most come back.
Sometimes I ask here if folks know where they are, with varying degrees of helpful answers.

| Try calling the trainer. Tell the trainer you have a genuine interest in the horse. Ask him how she is doing. |
