Echo Eight Wins at Zia Park

Postby ZiaLand » Tue Nov 01, 2016 12:25 pm

Just received notification that one of the 2YOs we bred, Echo Eight, just won wire-to-wire in the first race at Zia Park today after setting the pace.

He's had a very troubled 2YO season, but he really did us proud today. Hopefully this will give him the confidence to start putting it all together.

His birth was originally announced on Foal Watch here: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=34604

And yes, right now, we're very happy we're back in the game. :D

Congratulation Zialand! Those 2 year old wins are hard to come by.

Thanks so much, Jeff. Yes, that was a fun race to watch. The second place finisher was also a Diabolical.

For anyone interested, Zia Park shows replays on their site if you click November 1, then race 1 below it: http://www.ziaparkcasino.com/Racing/Replay%20racing

A couple of weeks later on the 23rd, Blazing Away was the pre-post favorite and showed some real grit after stumbling out of the gate and nearly falling to end up running in last place. He handled the traffic well to finish a game 4th while still closing, so probably a good race to end the year. (That was also race 1 on the above site.) Unfortunately, "Zinger" got claimed so isn't likely to have any more rides by Ry Eikleberry.
