Outdone, 2-other than at Pimlico, flat mile on the turf, Thursday.
Unless it rains, naturally. She'll get a price, even though this is her much preferred distance.
May have some over the weekend, and we're taking a vanload to Colonial Downs, so I'll keep you posted.

Thanks LSB. Just hoping it's not TOO hot at old Hilltop; the mare hates the heat and humidity.
We have another in Saturday at Philly; 3yo. filly by Abaginone, Lei Diavalo. First try (officially) on the turf, but she works on the grass all the time.

Both girls tried hard and shut down in the lane....and both scoped full of mucous.
Frustrating that we can't ever know that before they run!
Antibiotics in full swing.

Catch and Release always spent his time looking out the window at the activity on the track's backside. So you knew if he was "butt to the window", you might as well scratch. Something was troubling him, and he wasn't going to run well that day.

Too bad more horses don't have readable signals like that. Sorry for your girls. It's so disheartening when you and they are eager to run and they get sick. Here's a picture of (Mr. Photogenic) C&R. I raced Catch from age 3-8, and he was claimed and raced on to age eleven.

Catch is a beefcake, Henthorn! Love those big red machines. He must have been rock solid sound to race till he was in double digits.

BenB, mucous is the result/symptom of an infection deep in the lungs. We don't "blow out" our horses in workouts, and it usually takes race speed to stir it up enough for you to know it's there, unfortunately. It's what cost Afleet Alex in that prep race when John Velasquez rode him the only time. So the girls are on antibiotics, and are doing fine.
We have another in this Saturday at Philadelphia, so we're crossing our fingers she's okay. She scoped fine so far.

Well, we had a nice win at Philly today with One and Only You! No mucous, ran well, la de da.
Perhaps our karma is changing.
