Hi there! I'm new to the board
I just purchased a 12yr old gelding and I was hoping someone can help me get some info on him (ie..his past race records etc)
I believe his race name was Coastal Display.
Thanks in advance! |

Thanks Madelyn
I'm not too sure how to read the numbers and stuff. I think I see that he had 64 starts? Which is alot, I'm guessing. I do know that he retired in Dec'04 so that number might be higher. Also in his pedigree..he is a desentdant of Man O War and War Relic. Why do you have smiley guys by the 8's? Is that good? Can you also tell me who his trainer and owners were? Was he a good race horse overall?
I see my pumpkin was a stakes winner!! Well I agree.. he was durable. Let's see how he does as a show horse. We took him to his first show on Saturday and he tied for Reserve Champion in the Hack division. He had his game face on!!! |

My APR is an '03 so his races in '03 and '04 would not be tabulated. It says he is a '93 model by Cote d'ivoire and indeed raced for 7 years, 64 starts, 12 wins, 5 seconds and 7 thirds for earnings of $178,701. Sorry about the smilies, forgot to disable them and it will drop them in where the combo of characters equals a smilie. It is very interesting the pattern of those restricted stakes, seems he mostly went once a year and got the same race each time. Wish you the best of luck with him! _________________ So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can..... |

Isn't 64 starts a little much? I don't really know too much about racing but that sounds like alot.
I don't suppose anyone knows who his trainer and owners were??? |

He started more than 64 times, that is just how many starts he had through the beginning of 2003 when my cd was compiled. It is a LOT. He qualifies as a War Horse. So if he is in fact still completely sound now, you can be pretty much guaranteed he will be sound forever. _________________ So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can..... |

I hope he'll be sound forever!!! I did find out this race records. He had 84 Starts
His last race was Dec 16'04 at age 11. What I can't believe is in his last year of racing'04...he started 13 times.
So I guess my baby does qualify as a War Horse. Is there some club that we can sign up for? |

There are some Thoroughbred only horse shows that have War Horse classes... the shows are mainly for OTTB's and most often held at racetracks in the off season. For my "War Horse" though, I am just happy to have a War Horse blanket for her and for us to know she is (116 starts, won her last race at 10). _________________ So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can..... |

Hi Karie,
I'm not too sure how to read these APR's but does it say he had 97 starts? Do I include the North America Muddy/Sloppy or not. Because then its only 84 starts like I thought.
Thanx |
