My former race mare, Always Victorian gave birth to a bay filly last night at 11:40. Daddy is Legal Jousting(IRE). Mom and baby are doing great-took about 10 mintues from start to finish. We're calling her "Spunky" at the moment, because she certainly deserves the name!
Baby is light bay with white all around, including a very high back right, star, stripe and snip, and a pink spot on lower lip, and some white tail hairs as well, for good measure.

She has an interesting balance of strength and femininity in that photo. And look at that engine! _________________ Justice: When you get what you deserve.

Thanks, everyone. I'm really pleased with her. Áll of the Legal Jousting babies that I have seen this year are very correct individuals. I plan on sending my mare back again in 2007, and hope for something just as nice.
She does love to run all over the pasture-and it's seven acres, so she can really let loose! |

I really like the Legal Jousting pedigree.
Anyone have any idea what kind of hassels it is to cross borders with a horse?
Thanks.

JonR it is no hassle really. You would need documentation. Your horse needs an Import to Canada health certificate. It needs to be prepared by your vet and then signed by the USDA vet in your state (usually located in the state capitol). There is a fee. If you are heading out to breed only, then the certificate reflects that and is good for re-entry into the US, and they won't make a fuss about General Sales Tax at the border. Crossing into Ontario has been smooth for me.. getting back into the US can only be done M-F between 8-5 when they have a USDA representative to inspect the horse trailer (and contents) and you can make an appointment for that. _________________ So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can..... |

Thanks JonR.
I am now the sole owner of the stallion Legal Jousting. He will be standing for $2000 Canadian for this coming season. I'm currently working on putting a webpage together for him. His first foals this year are very nice (as you can see Maureen's is)
As Madelyn mentioned bringing a mare over the border is realitively uncomplicated. We're located very close to the Niagara border crossings. _________________ Legal Jousting (Indian Ridge X In Anticipation - Sadler's Wells) standing at Kingsgate Stud |
