Mellanie is in the 12th draw 3 8,5 furlong condition race on the turf in germany ( dusseldorf). Blacktype race again.
It is again a difficult race again, as she is to good for racing in our homecountry and yet not good enough for the topraces abroad.
The first start after our derby. Track conditions in her favour good to yielding.
We are having a holiday with the family located some 10 miles from mellanies trainers place so mellanie will be petted for a week plus. |

| It could be that she will run also on the 20th 7 furlongs condition stakes same track, so we hope to have a nice holiday, hopofully a better than last year when we lost vestal heights as a racehorse due to a severe lungbleeding on her last race at the same track at the same day. |

How did she do?, or will she run the 20th instead? _________________ "Most people hate the taste of beer to begin with. It is, however, a prejudice that many people have been able to overcome."-Winston Churchill |

Let me answer as Ben and his family are on holidays (without internet-connection ):
Mellanie was never in the race and finished a well beaten 8th of 10 against strong opposition (the winner Molly Art was Group-winner before and the second Flor Y Nata from England was placed in a LR before). |

She broke well, but was pushed out by the faster horses coming from the outside meeting to much traffic problems and wasn,t on the bridle, the surface did not help her as it was soft on the surface, but a couple of inches down it was rock hard so a kind of loose ground.
The jockey tried only 1 furlong from home, but there was not any gear in her left. Afterwards we have been petting her for a a whole week, but there was sadness in her eyes and she behaved very dull.
I just thought she was not allowed to race as she liked.
The only positive point, she was rated 5 lb down in the handicap after the race compared to in front of the race.
Have to find a down rated race for her.

Ben, that may be quite a blessing, to receive weight from the other runners next out. Gives them more confidence to be able to keep up with the tougher horses. _________________ Rocking H |
