Hope he has a safe trip and blows away the field, Denise.
Congrats. It's a long road to get them this far. That, in itself, is a success.

I thought I was going to pass out when we had our first homebred start. Good luck, and try not to go into cardiac arrest! _________________ **************************************

How exciting for you, Denise!
I started breeding my first mare six years ago, and have had only two starters so far. I've only seen one race thus far in person. The 5yo belongs to someone else, and he is now stakes-placed. The 3yo starter got injured after a workout with only one race in her, and is training for an August return at Remington Park. My other 3yo has sore shins, delaying her first start in Iowa, maybe now in July.
They grow so fast, but there are always delays just when you think you're on track. Wishing My Son Spider safe trip and learn something. Earning is a bonus in the first few races. _________________ Rocking H |

4th place in his first trip. VERY salty heat over a deep track. He got rubber legged in the stretch. Our heat went two seconds faster than the A-other than before it!
But he did everything very professionally (other than being surprised a bit by the cars close to the backstretch...he only sees Amish buggys where he lives), and came out of it fine. Just tired and thirsty.
Now I can breathe again! |
