Does anyone know where to find the contact information for the track photographers at Churchill Downs and The Meadowlands? I can't seem to find it online! Thanks!

for Churchill Downs, try www.reedpalmerphoto.com

As for the photos for Ferrari...

His winning trainers were as follows:

1984 William L. Tronco

1985 Mark E. Deane

His winning jockeys were as follows:

1984 D. B. Thomas

1985 R. W. Palmer (and no, surely not the Churchill Downs photographer mentioned above)

Don't know if those names are still involved in racing anywhere, but if you can locate them, perhaps they have an old photo they might be willing to part with or copy for you.

PostPosted: Mon May 26, 2008 1:10 pm    Post subject: Magesterial's Son - Looking for Winners Circle Photo Reply with quote

I know it's a real long shot, but I'd love to find a winning circle photo (or any racing photo) of my adored 23 year old thoroughbred (who's still happily competing at 3-day eventing and 4th level dressage!)

Magesterial's Son - Born 5/19/85 -
Dam - Twin Sparkler
Sire - Magesterial's Son
(I just loaded him into the pedigree database)

24 starts with one win:
Santa Anita Park, Nov 07, 1987
Race 4

How do I find out the track photographer for that race, and their contact info. I know you've mentioned sometimes the best bet is finding the trainer or owner for wins this long ago, however the Equiline report lists multiple owners and trainers. Is there a way to find out which one owned or trained at the time of his win?

Thanks you so much for your help getting this forum going and helping people. I'm sure you've made many owners very happy

Lydia

Iholly,

Sorry for the delay!

The winning trainer was Warren Stute, who did pass away last summer, but you could try to write to his brother Mel, in care of Hollywood Park, CA.

The winning jockey for your horse back in 1987 was Antonio Castanon, now riding in Arizona at Yavapai Downs.

(my instinct says write to Mel Stute, as it is far more likely that someone in his family still has 20-year-old possessions than it is that Castanon does)

In reference to the track photographer, it couldn't hurt to contact Santa Anita for info about just who the person was back in 1987 at the Oak Tree meeting. (be aware that the fall (Oct/Nov) season at Santa Anita is distinguished from the main winter meeting there)

I hope this helps.

I would love love love to find pictures of my horse Step Charger. He won 4 races. At the time he was owned by Spotsmen Stable.

I know he won the Chez Pierre, think my spelling is correct. I believe it was at Saratoga in 1998. I'm clueless as to the other 3 races. He raced mainly in New York and Florida.

Was it Spotsmen or Sportsmen? If it is Sportsmen Stable I may be able to help you as I know people who are connected with them.

Yes, Sportsmen Stable. I goofed on spelling. If you could help, that would be wonderful

Duke of Venice:

3 wins indeed:

September 17, 2003, Sandown Park, England

May 3, 2004, Doncaster, England

June 18, 2004, Royal Ascot, England (Gr. III)

Also, you might take a chance and order the following:

October 6, 2006 in the 10th at Keeneland,

order the picture for Islero Noir

Duke of Venice was beaten a nose in that race

hope this helps

Try http://www.racingfotos.com. Click on 'Non Registered Users' on the first page, and then type in Duke of Venice on the search page. There are a number of photos of him.
