Good.......he's a disgusting excuse for a human being and shouldn't be allowed to ever own another horse again or participate in any horse industry again. Ever!

These horses were at his farm not on the track, so they were not collecting breeders awards. NYRA yanked his license and his daughter surrended their licenses so he cannot run horses under there names.

Why would anyone be afraid of Ernie more then afraid there are others like him out there.

Crystal, my comment was because there was no discussion on this subject at all this year and actually very little last year. Being who he is, his prominence you would think there would have been alittle more interest and discussion. Just surprised is all.

I know, I thought there was more convo about Gerry in the past. Ernie was a jerk to deal with, he made stupid decisions, and his farm has been hard to work with in the past from my own experience. Nice people, they just didnt have their shit together. He wasn't involved day to day on the farm, so I'm sure he had no idea what was going on. I'm not making excuses for him, but Really.. be an owner not just a check signer..

I can't comment as I don't know anything about the particulars. The one thing I did hear was that he might have noticed that his feed bill was a tiny fraction of the amount it normally is and some idiotic excuse about getting racefit track horses ready to breed by getting them trimmer. No one in their right mind makes that kind of excuse....

There was a case in Canada of an owner going overseas and having paid someone to look after his horses. The person took the money and never set foot on the farm. Luckily someone noticed the lane hadn't been plowed and it had a few feet of snow..... The horses were dead or emaciated. It is impossible to trust someone if the owner is absent. I have no inside info on either case so don't like to say much. Sad
