Thanks!! I will make it a mission to get over and get photos of her!
I hope this year that there will be no big fireworks and that horses will sell for good, workmanlike prices, and that they will all find good homes. _________________ So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can..... |

| A.P. Indy sold for 4.2 million. Second dam is the dam of Zenyatta....possibly more a factor than A.P. |

| It certainly didn't detract from the colt's value that his dam is a G1 winner, as well. |

So far, so good as far as the sale goes. For the first session, the average was up nearly 50%, the median was up 25%.
Session topper was an A.P. Indy colt o/o Balance who sold for 4.2M, the highest price since 2006. |

Session 1 of the premier select yearling sale in the world and one million dollar horse.
First session average up 50% but how does the average compare with good years?
Take away the $4.2m colt what have you got?
Sheik Mohammed bought 1 and Coolmore bought 1 - that says a lot. |

| Not to mention the fact that the first book looks like a compilation of the best that an old Keeneland July Sale compared to last year's first book that looked like a normal Keeneland September. I wonder if those consignor's of #3, #15, #16, #19, #21, #29, #43, #56, #87 and #95 are that impressed ??? |

So what's your point? That a sale isn't going well unless every horse brings a million? That we should all ignore the fact of the poor economy in assessing how it going? It could have been a whole lot worse than it was last night. Like I said, so far, so good.
Sheikh Mohammed bought 1 and Coolmore bought 1 and the world didn't end-- to me that says that the market currently has a broader range of buyers willing to spend significant money. I can't see how that's a bad thing. |

I love Keeneland It's so beautiful, the horses look fantastic (at least the majority do) and the food and company is great.
#14 was a pretty outstanding looking colt to match his page. _________________ "People come and go but horses leave hoofprints on your heart" |

Well, I saw him on Youtube, can't believe this is a yearling, but I guess he takes after the family! _________________ The more I get to know people, the more I love animals. |

| Did anyone see the Giant's Causeway Honey Ryder colt (believe it was Hip 155)? I couldn't believe he went for only $30k. Does anyone know what the problem was? |

| A lot of very well bread yearlings selling very cheaply. Amazing how it has changed since 2005. At that sale, Hip #836 was the 42nd seven figure yearling in the sale. What have we this year 3? 4? |
