He's a cutie! I wonder what his pedigree is?

Hip number 4121 of the Keeneland sale going now (yesterday), she was a orangish bay and had a solid silver mane and probably 1/3 of her taile was frosted siver, very pretty looking. She was bred in Ireland, her name was HUJUM. She was a smaller mare. http://www.pedigreequery.com/hujum

I noticed a lot of horses with splash characteristics during the current Keeneland sale (and got some good screen grabs). I'm going to compile a list and see which ancestors they have in common.

Great photos!

ABSOLUTELY horrible prices at the sale.
Many, many reserves not met, $1000 mares/foals, and NO BIDS!
The thousands/millions lost on stud fees, care, training, and selling...........
I don't know how the TB industry is still standing :?:

I sure am happy at least 1/2 to most of mine I'm breeding will have color going for them............suerly they will have much longer lives than many of the horses/mares/foals above that are in a bad "catagory" right now.

There were 2 mares HIP 4347 http://www.pedigreequery.com/love+me+greeley
that was big, muscled, great dark color, open.........NO BID.

And HIP 4374 http://www.pedigreequery.com/my+secret+angel that was a massive 16.3 to 17.1h mare, drop dead gorgeous, brought $1K or no saled.

They could have been super sporthorse BM's! Maybe they will show up on Equinenow.com for sale. Saw 2 stallions that made over $1Mil and no bids,
but they did not have conformation on their side........still pittiful though.
I feel so bad for those people, and worry about winter coming and "unwanted" horses/foals lingering around, not a great scenario.......

I think so. Many bays with silver look to be chestnut or, like this guy, chestnut with flaxen.

I don't think it exists in TBs. At least not that we know about but I'd like to see that one tested. Maybe ACC can clarify.

I suspect that the sporthorse industry is just as depressed as the rest of the horse industry. I live in Amish country, but even they aren't breeding many mares. I saw virtually no foals in my wanderings through the rural areas of SW NY and NW PA this summer.
