Now because they have restored meat and killers in USA they are refusing permit at camelot .Frank was buying horses at New Holland and re selling them at his auction in NJ and the ones bound for killers was getting them placed by reselling them on internet/facebook camelot horse weekly.Since it started not a single horse was shipped to the plants here in Canada,they did a very good job of saving these horses.Now they pulled his permit so no more rescue only meat....Lots of TB ex racers and broodmares and young ones went tru this program and were saved that way...Make a small effort go to the facebook page and call or email the state person in charge in NJ _________________ The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget... |

Quote{Frank Carper procures most of his horses from auctions in New Holland, Pa., and he typically would have the horses tested after he brought them into New Jersey.
The Agriculture Department stepped in this summer and told Carper that, under state rules, horses had to be given the $20 Coggins tests 90 days before they were transported into the state and sold.
??????}
So he should get the coggins done before he buys them or after and lay them up somewhere but if it is to kill them you do not have to bother?..
Same for shipping to Canada,if i bring horse to live need coggins but if i bring them to kill no coggins...
so he crosses state line without interstate certificate,but as of now if these horses have a good coggins why butcher them? _________________ The sport and industry survive not only because of the champions that are remembered forever but also because of the losers that are so easy to forget... |

What is simply moronic about that is a coggins is only good the day the blood is drawn. The horse could be infected with EIA any old time AFTER the coggins is run.. sale companies require tests for EVA, EIA, etc., WITHIN 90 days of the sale date. Maybe someone in that ag dept has dyslexia and thinks it is outside 90 days. The more recent the test, the more valid.... _________________ So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can..... |

Isn't this transporting over state lines with intent to resell? So to get to NJ from PA wouldnt horses for resale need a health cert too? Maybe listing them as food purposes lets them ship across state lines without paper work.. and hence frank doesn't need to "mark them up" more so and that helps them network and move faster..
I don't know but Madelyn is right.. and plus auction/kill pens/ etc are just hot houses for diease and illness. |
