i'm watching the golden slipper (3.6 million dollar 2YO race in Aussie land) and more than ready has sired like, freaking half the damn field lol including the post time 4/5 fav. he doesn't get the respect he deserves here in the states IMHO. he really is a world class turf sire.
PS- Lonhro sired the winner. might pick up his business over here.

El Prado, Lonhro reverse shuttled to Darley this season.
Pierro's dam is Irish-bred, and is a half-sister to Laverock, a Gr-1 winning champion in Italy from the one season Octagonal reverse-shuttled to France. |

Oh, ok. I stopped getting BH when they halved the pages and info and kept the price the same. Haven't looked at ads, don't own a mare, so it was pointless to keep dreaming.
I'm taking care of an 84 yr old, deaf as a door, diabetic mother and have health problems myself. It gets hectic. |

I don't understand why you think More Than Ready "doesn't get the respect he deserves in the states. " To me, a 60K stud fee and a full book signals plenty of respect. |

I don't understand why you think More Than Ready "doesn't get the respect he deserves in the states. " To me, a 60K stud fee and a full book signals plenty of respect. |
I think MTR had to really work for it here, creeping up to 60k, whereas down under he was a superstar from the word go. Having two slipper winners in as many years will do that for a stallion. |

this pretty much.
even with that said, down there, he's in the same class /b reath as the top of the line sires like fastnet rock, high chapperal. down there MTR is a big time sire. He's the sire of the 2nd best mare (IMHO) down there in More Joyus
here, he's considered to be a good sire, but no one would put him in the same breath as say, smart strike, ap indy, b'dini. he would be in the same class as say, indian charlie, pulpit, etc
he is a rock star down there.
i think the reason is that they like sprinting more than we do here. The 3.6 million dollar race for 2 year olds down there is a 6F race. they race for real money in sprints down there and take their sprinters very seriously whereas here sprinting seems to be more of a fall back if you can't route or a springboard to route.

It's not as if most American breeders are aiming for turf sprints and the like. But even outside that, he's a very consistent, good stallion.
I also think he's tailor-made for the saturation of Danehill blood in Oz. Not to mention physically, he really suits the more substantial, heavier boned Aussie mares. |

Give Sunday Joy some credit for More Joyous there!
In raw numbers of runners, winners, and stakes winners, More than Ready is actually doing better in the <i>northern</i> hemisphere than the southern hemisphere....it's just that his runners down under are performing at a higher class than his runners in the US and Canada. Here, there are a very few who are Gr-1 class, a handful who are Gr-2/Gr-3 class, a bunch of listed winners, and some good allowance horses. In Aussie, everything is dialled up a notch.
He's never going to make it into the top tier of US stallions, because the top tier of US stallions are ones who will get you a 10f horse on dirt. With 8 crops of foals running, you know what he's going to produce. |

Hi everyone, hope all of you are doing well!
Gotta question and if one needs to be answered, it will be on here!
More Than Ready has a gorgeous son, Ready's Image, standing for 5K at Walmac.
Not long ago, I was talking to a lady down in Florida that either had a son or grandson of his and he used to stand at Ups and Downs Farms Farm in Florida. He is no longer listed on the roster.
I can't for the life of me remember if that IS the stallion, or if it was one of his siblings??? Does anybody know? I believe her name was Kathy(??)
If anyone has any information, would greatly appreciate it.
Missed all of you.....

Possibly FRISCO STAR. He ran for Harry Aleo and Greg Gilchrist (Lost in the Fog) in California--fast but unsound. I believe he's had fertility issues along the way.
I am a big fan of READYS IMAGE. My best foal this year is by him and I have three mares in foal to him for 2013. As you may know he had his first winner yesterday, a swift colt who won by five at Keeneland. His 2yo's have averaged about $125,000 this year in Florida (which means we will never hear from them again). |

Hello, thanks for the answer, but the name was VERY similar to the horses' name that is standing at Walmac. Looks just like him too.
I believe he had to be retired because his leg was injured, as I was told by the owner. I also believe he was a sprinter and had set a record at Arlington. That's as much as I can remember.
My mare needs the speed. She can run all day long, but needs the speed added, and not that this makes any difference in if you win or not, I want a dark colored horse! LOL
