| Both guys hugely successful, one gets canned immediately, the other keeps getting more horses. Why don't owners demand the same from their trainers, integrity-wise? Is it because an NCAA sanction is for real, while the racing commissions can't muster up more than a slap on the hand? At least MD has had enough. |

| And that's why we keep losing fans, owners, and horses. Period. |

There was a time in this sport when integrity was everything. Now you have repeat offenders such as Biancone who somehow manage to continue to train and have access to tracks, and that fiasco happened in Kentucky where one would think that integrity is all important. How intelligent does one have to be to understand that when money is the prize there will always be people willing to break the rules to obtain it, or to understand that fast and uniform enforcement of the rules is the only way to discourage it.

while i understand your point, your example is off base
petrino might be a pretty shitty person, in fact i know he is lol. he is selfish, arrogant, and not av ery likeable person
but a CHEAT? that something he is not. he has never cheated and was under no pressure from the NCAA to be fired. in fact he instructs his assistants to not even negative recruit other schools even if it means losing a recruit to a another school. he does not cheat. everything he does NCAA wise is on the up in up
to the point that that the countries best high school player last year, a kid by the name of Dorial Green Beckam of DGB as he is known by people who follow recruiting, was down to basically Missouri and Arkansas, as he is from springfield, and becuase he is a wide receiver and we have a pass happy offense we were thought to be in the lead. well by chance he ran into DGB while in dallas for an all star game and because of recruiting rules he could not meet with him again for an in home official visit. he self reported the incident and forfeited the last in home visit he had scheduled that month and the kid ended up going with Missouri. our fan base was livid over that. that was worth whatever slap on the wrist the NCAA would have given
No, petrinos only problem was that he was having a sexual relationship with a woman who he then hired over 159 other applicants and also gave her 20 thousand dollars. even if he had stayed on he was in no NCAA trouble it's not an NCAA issue it's a human resources sexual harassment lawsuit issue. _________________ "When the solution is simple, God is answering.”

This is an apples and oranges analogy, but both share a propensity to rot. _________________ "He is pure air and fire and the dull elements of earth and water never appear in him; he is indeed a horse ..." Wm. Shakespeare - Henry V |
