What a nice kick for you, Wilf! I must not be paying attention - I can't remember the last time I saw a TB race carded for 4-1/2 for three and up! That's a good race for a conditioner. _________________ So Run for the Roses, as fast as you can..... |

There were three of them on opening day, and a 2f written for the next Sunday! |

| Hey thanks all ,it was a great day at the remarkable border track, the weather was perfect and the crowd above all expectations after the Ontario Govt pulled the plug on the slots/racetrack partnership. The draw and the distance were perfect for this filly who I found hanging out in a paddock with Tevez' underperforming half-sister in Ocala. They write a lot of short races here as well as the 2 furlong dashes so there may be a nw3 race going short for her to run back in. She may not win another as she is a small filly but will scarper along for a while if given the chance. I never bet on horses that I own as there is always a return if they win but I was shocked by the payoff as there were only a couple in the field that could run much. The cool sunny day was a relief after the heat and flies of Fla and the track surface is as good as it gets. Let's hope for a decent meet to pay off all the credit cards that took a beating over the winter. Next week I will have a 10 yr old who has not run in 18 months but trains well and a maiden who is doing well enough to show up< hope so anyway>. Both are mine so I won't have any disturbed owners to pacify if things don't work out . |

| Well the old guy came back ok and galloped out well. The filly that won on opening day seems ok too and they have written an extra on the turf going 5/8ths and I may just try her over it even though it is an open race. It should give me a good idea of how she moves over the grass and of course there is always the nw3 condition to run back in through the summer. The weather looks good through the next 5 days so we may get lucky. |

| Mmmm rather a difficult filly to be around however her consistency is a delight. Facebook shows her in the paddock standing on her hind legs about twice as tall as me,but all's well that ends well. |
