| Though one of the most influential sires in modern sport horse breeding, Furioso never won a race (in 21 starts) nor jumped a fence.
He was described as 'well balanced, but with slightly knock-kneed forelegs, and tight hocks' and he was known for his docile, quiet temperament.
He was the #1 sire of winners (showjumpers) in France from 1954-1961. Some of his famous offspring include: Lutteur B (1964 Olympic Individual Gold Medal), Furioso II (leading sire in Germany 1979-1989), Pomone B (World Showjumping Champion 1966), etc.
10 of his offspring competed in the Tokyo Olympics, and at least 30 offspring won international events.
See All-Breed databse for non-Thoroughbred progeny.
