Won up to 1-3/4 miles, better known for speed than stamina. His ability compared to the best horses of his time is difficult to rate because he did not race outside the Midwest, then considered a secondary circuit. Leading Sire 1893. Champion horse known for his winning foals.
Major Thomas was forced to sell due to financial reverses in 1897. The horse died at 30 on 12/30/1905, and was buried at Dixiana under a tombstone that reads: "Speed springs eternal from his ashes."
