Ran as Roger of the Vale
The erroneous idea he was imported into America and become a great sire had been believed for nearly 200 years. However, the Jockey Club showed in their publication Racing in America (1944) that in fact Roger of the Vale stayed in England. Probably confused with the actual import of similar birthdate.
