According to John Eisenberg in his 2003 book "Native Dancer", Cousin became impossible to train before the 1952 Kentucky Derby & sent to Europe. In England (known as Cousin II) was trained by Gerald Balding. Placed in a flat stakes race in 1953 & then sent jumping, winning 2 minor novice hurdles in Fall 1954 (A.G. Vanderbilt still listed as owner). Was gelded over there & died after "refusing" in final jump race, Spring 1955.
