A relatively unsuccessful branch of Family 2, the best horses which descend from Imperatrice are Friar's Balsam (undefeated in 7 starts as a 2yo in 1887 including July Stakes, Richmond Stakes, Middle Park Plate and Dewhurst Stakes, 1888 Champion Stakes), Lord Rossmore (1903 Irish Derby) and a few other minor classic winners
In 1871 she produced a dead filly by Breadalbane, was then covered by Camerino, sold to M. Cavaliero, and sent to Hungary.
