Night Raid was first sent to Kaituna until Roberts built his new stud in Timaru, New Zealand. Despite his very disappointing racing career he turned out to be a Champion Sire and would go on to sire the great Phar Lap along with 12 other Stakes Winners including Nightmarch who defeated Phar Lap in the 1929 Melbourne Cup. Even though he stood in New Zealand he never led the sire list there, but he topped Australia's List from 1929-1931. Died in 1943.
