After 2 seasons in UK (which included 3rd plc Epsom Derby), Noor was sold to Charles S. Howard in the U.S.He became the California based archrival of Citation, whom he defeated 4 times. He also defeated Assaul,becoming the first horse to defeat two Triple Crown winners. Hall of Fame inductee 2002. Retired in Dec 1950. Died Nov. 16 '74 at Loma Rica Ranch. Was buried in the infield training track. Update: As of Sept 2011, NOOR's remains repose at Old Friends TB retirement in KY.
