Outstanding racehorse, sire, and grandsire. Headed the Argentine sire list on three occasions (1912, 1917, 1918) and was second on three other occasions (1913, 1915, 1916). Old Man was leading maternal grandsire nine times (1920, 1922, 1923,1924, 1925, 1926, 1927, 1928, 1929), and his influence as a maternal grandsire was prolonged until 1939 in which year he figured ninth in the list.
Old Man stood at the El Moro farm,where he died on August 10,1918.Outstanding among his progeny were the great Botafogo,Espirita, etc.
