Purchased by Sanford for $2,000, the top price at Woodburn yearling sale. Sent to England 1875, where he was sold to the Duke of Hamilton. Became tough to handle as an older horse, and after one fit of temper was shot & killed by Hamilton. The incident caused a reform in English law which governed handling of animals.
