Smuggled through German blockades as a weanling and imported to the U.S. Claimed by Horatio Luro for Audrey Emory and Prince Dimitri Djordjadze of Russia for $2500 as a 2-year old. The Hancocks bought him in 1943 and stood him at their Ellerslie in Virginia until 1946 when he moved to Claiborne. He had the unique ability to correct almost any leg or soundness problem in the mares he bred. Princequillo died of a heart attack in 1964 and is buried at Claiborne Farm.
