| Owner: Colonel E.F. Clay
Imported to and raced in the U.S. as a claimer. Her greatest achievement was the 1914 horse of the year roamer although his conception was not intentional.
A teaser stallion had ‘roamed’ away from his paddock and had jumped a fence in order to get to the blind mare. The fact that the stallion was not the best racer and the fact that Rose Tree had not produced anything worthwhile the mishap did not concern the farm owners, but Roamer was gelded almost immediately in order to prevent any more future wanderings. Her daughter ROSEWOOD also produced 3 solid stakes winners.
