"The Thoroughbred Stud of H.P. Whitney, Esq." (1928) (private publication by H.P. Whitney) says: "Her [Balance's] bay filly (1926) by Whisk Broom [Swing On] was sold as a yearling to the Wheatley Stable." Whitney was apparently not very taken with Balance's produce; he sold all of them up to the publication of his book, in 1928, without retaining any of her daughters for his stud. Dam of Seabiscuit. Swing On was later the third dam of Kentucky Derby winner Determine.
