Too Chic sold as a yearling in 1980 for $100,000 from the King Ranch consignment.
Won the one-mile Maskette Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park as a three-year-old in 1982, finished second in the Alabama Stakes (G1) at Saratoga Race Course. She also equaled a Belmont track record by completing 1 1/16 miles in 1:40.40 in an 11-length allowance win on September 2 that year.
Too Chic produced seven winners from ten starters, including Chic Shirine, winner of the 1987 Ashland Stakes (G1) at Keeneland Race Course, who produced Grade 2 winners Waldoboro and Tara Roma; and Queena, champion older mare of '91 who produced Grade 1 winner Brahms.
