Imported to USA by R.D. Sheppard of Virginia. Later passed into the hands of Commodore Morgan, US Navy, who presented the horse to Senator Henry Clay of Kentucky. Senator Clay passed the horse on to his son, John M. Clay for whom he was a good sire. Yorkshire died in 1859.
