First Spring Meeting at Newmarket,1775
Beat Mr.Shafto's chestnut colt(Matchem)over the Beacon Course,while Lord Clermont's bay colt(Havannah)paid a forfeit.During the race Young Marske was said to have dislocated a fetlock,despite which he covered the remaining quarter mile.He was soon purchased by Mr. Hutton,who named him,and stood him,first at Mr.Barugh's York Gate in Leeming Lane,near Boroughbridge in Yorkshire,and later at Aldburgh. Died October 1800.
