Castaway (by Woodcock) is usually attributed as a son of [Darcy's] Woodcock, but [Darcy's] Woodcock's foaling date of 1702c make it impossible for him to be the sire of Castaway (all other progeny of [Darcy's] Woodcock date to between 1716 and the early 1720s).
Castaway is probably a son of an earlier Woodcock, [Old] Woodcock (1685c), there being a number of horses named Woodcock in the early years of the thoroughbred
