Danzig . . . . . Who is he ??? I've never seen such an absurd statement in my life. And you actually think you know something about thoroughbreds is the sad part. Let's see, is it the fact he was born in 1977 that we soon forget ??? 838 Starters from 1074 foals for what - about 78% starters from foa...

Personally, I think this is one heck of an idea. Imagine a place that you would never have to leave. Imagine a place where you would have the security of racing year round. It would be a plus for owners, trainers, breeders and stallion owners as well as everybody else involved with the show. It soun...

How would all of you interpret when a stallion exits Kentucky during the first 3 years at stud? After the first 3 years is a combination of factors some of which are: 1.) Highly syndicated stallions whose shares are sold to investors, not mare owners. They buy in on the belief that their shares wil...

I don't know why so many bemoan Florida mares to be inferior to Kentucky. I've been in this business for well over 30 years and I've seen more stallions made with Florida mares than I can count. I can remember breeding 3 mares to Saint Ballado his first season at stud for $1500 a pop. I can remember...

Actually since Sunday Silence there was one that didn't go. Saint Ballado had a bigger offer from Japanese Interests when he was at Ocala Stud but he didn't pass their vet check so he moved to Kentucky. I think a bigger loss to Japan tho' was Forty Niner.

99 mares to Successful Appeal is not a successful breeding season ???

Every one of those stallions would have been considered more than successful except for Hat Trick 20 years ago.

Look at books 4 thru 7 at Keeneland for your price bracket but if you are going to be there don't count out book 3 for soft spots in the sale.

Nodouble should have been a Chef years ago. Codex and Lost Code loses me, and to become a Chef years ago you didn't pop in as one off of just a few crops. The additions of Smart Strike and Kingmambo I can understand but Giant's Causeway almost makes me wonder if becoming a Chef has to do with how mu...

I raised a D nick one time. He only won 2 Grade 2's and 3 Grade 3's and earned a little over $675,000; All a nick is another statistic. I had a client one time wanting to breed a grandaughter of Roberto to Known Fact. At the time, he had 3 big stakes horses out of daughters of Roberto; What that so-...

I'd have to agree with Madelyn, pretty tough to say just who the best has been. And even myself would have a time attempting to distinguish between who would be the greatest. I remember Ta Wee and Ruffian Lest not to forget Bayakoa, Personal Ensign, Go For Wand and Winning Colors. And of recent time...

It takes 2 to make a bidding war or a reserve and only one person really interested to get what you feel is the "RIGHT" price. I have seen consignor's over the years whine and cry about what their horse brought in the ring and yet didn't even like their own horse enough to put a reserve on it. Other...

Not a bad mare on paper. Gold Fever was Phipp's bred and sired 2 - million dollar earners. 1st dam by Wajima by Bold Ruler (rare anymore to get Bold Ruler that close in a pedigree); Without looking at her 1/2 sisters produce records she does have a bunch of them, 1/2 sisters by Dixie Union, Private ...
