This is to funny. Here it is 2 years later and I come across this long forgotten string. I only skimmed through it but here it is. No Pin firing for tendons and besides they do a cross fire not a pin when they do a tendon. I would most certainly agree that's not the thing to do for a tendon. Besides...

She is Red Roan although thoroughbreds are only described as roan. I stand corrected as too how the term is used from dam and sire lines but just the same she is none the less by Compliance, sire of Fourestardave and Fourstartallstar. Her dam is by Bold Arian as is Broadway Joan, dam of the two prev...

Ok, back to the subject. Right this very moment in time, I am dealing with a set of bucked shins. This is a 4 year old and the problem began in October. I didn't pin fire nor did I blister him. As of today I am paying for not having done it. If you are racing or puting your horse under any type of s...

Everyone has there own opinion and I respect yours. With that said, I have 30 years in racing and have seen pin fireing 100's of times.Don't hesitate to do it. As for the bowed tendon, although it is the same treatment it's called cross fireing, and I would agree that it's barbaric. As for the scari...

The microscopic surgery can be very effective and succesful. If it is still attached and not in a spot that hinders movement of the joint, this is a better thing and perhaps can be left in. Time off with a blister to promote faster healing is called for. If it's in an area of movement, you want to t...

This ones been sitting here a few days. Doesn't anyone know the answer? Pin Fire is usally used on bucked shins. It's also used on popped splints. I have also seen it done a few times to curbed hocks. Let me start by saying that some folks believe it to be barbaric, but we won't go there lets just s...

Certainly you would want to regulate it. But other than a good visual, which isn't always accurate, it might be a good idea to repeat the test every 20 to 30 days. I have worked with four different vets with this problem and each one of them have mass experience with Horse. Yet nearly all are differ...
