I love your mare's pedigree and could list plenty of UK Sires for her.

As for US sires I'd look for one that had Thong and/or Cosmah and/or Nijinsky in the Sire's Sire line and Mr P in the bottom. If such a Sire exists over where you are.

Lil's Boy

Any opinions on this Sire as a broodmare Sire?

Two fillies to look at

Pips Pearl (Lil's Boy-Penka) and San Michele (Vettori-LaPiazza)

Can I have your honest opinions on both pedigrees, whether they would make good broodmares and what UK/IRE based Sires you'd breed them to.

What are peoples views on the above filly's pedigree and who would you breed her to?

Straffan (Shinko Forest-Katherine Gorge)

I'm thinking about possibly making the owners an offer on this filly. She's the 4th foal; half-sister to 2 2yo winners, including 4yo Miss Champers, winner of several races over 6-8f from 2 to 4; dam unraced daughter of useful sprinter Katies First, herself out of top-class miler Katies. Any views o...

Pity she wasn't UK based otherwise I'd have been very interested, she'd breed nicely to a Turn-To line stallion.

UK Sales Sites

Can anyone help me with finding websites offering thoroughbreds for sale within the UK.
Also any Us sites offering horses suitable for bringing over to the UK.

Indian Pearl

Can anyone give me advise on whether Indian Pearl (Indian Lodge-Thatchabella) would make a good broodmare prospect and like UK/IRE Sires that would be suitable for her.

the most promising one of the Acatenango sons at the moment is Lando. Lando himself won the German Derby and the "Japan Cup". His best son so far went to stud this year, his name is "Paolini", a HB of Platini. Lando himself stood several years at the "Ittlingen Stud", but this season he went to Fra...

The only one I haven't seen run is Wordsworth. I didn't get a chance to go to the sales this year so missed GC's progeny going through the ring. Interestingly his two best runners Shamardal and Maid's Causeway are both by daughters of sons of MrP. Too early to call it a nick but still interesting.

Half and full brothers out of Mariah's Storm. As you can see the quality is not there after GC. They may look nice and be well bred but they couldn't run for toffee HORSE WINS PLACES RUNS  Giant´s Causeway (USA) 97 h  9   4   13   Freud (USA) 98 h   1   3   12   Tumblebrutus (USA) 01 c  1   3   7  ...

Bettina, would I be right in thinking that the Alchemist line has been the most succesful Sire line in Germany, all the top sires i can think of seem to have him in their pedigree, and Surumu seems to be a great broodmare Sire influence. My intention is still to retire to Germany with a few mares an...

It's very noticable over here where every track is different and we have both left and right handed (and straight!) tracks. Certain horses do have a tendency to 'hang' and not handle tracks that go in a certain direction.
