Hmmm.... Louis, you HAVE to be right :D Phalaris here, Phalaris there, Phalaris everywhere... And after 50 years (or more) we could go: ND here, ND here, ND everywhere... (at least in Europe - you USA breeders are happy to have MR.P and other non-ND lines (thanks, Germans, for your "native" lines!))

Shadwell France (Hamdan al Maktoum) bought a Monsun filly, a half sister to 2006 German derby winner Schiaparelli and 2 other "high rank" winners Salve Regina and Samum, for 520.000 EUR at Deauville (18.8.2006). Monsun sells well. But in this case it is not just Monsun... Old people say: If a king m...

Pilsudski (IRE)

Hi there, I would like to know if any of you knows how Pilsudski did his job as a Sire? Born in 1992, he was still running in 1997 and then he retired to stud. Only a few of "his" horses are registred in the database. And then (in 2004) he returns to Ireland and his fee is only 4.000 EUR! A bit stra...

Site problems

Hi there, I am having trouble with Pedigreequery. I could not open it for several days, but now I can not open the drop-down menus (they don't show at all, and the 'message board' option works only if I click on it). No progeny, no adding horses (well, I succedeed once today). So I checked with a fr...

Italy is one of the "heaviest" countries in Europe regarding betting. That is why on the tracks they usually simulcast more races (from different tracks) - mostly from Italy, but I have seen some foreign races as well (I think it was in Treviso, which is one of the smallest Italian racetracks). I gu...

"Backing up" in interval training represents so called tappering-off.

You shorten the distance and gain in speed and to the naked eye it could look like backing off, but instead it's geting "the edge" from your horse. So it depends on what kind of backing-off are you writing.

Electronic Unicorn (placed 4th) was 2002 HOY and 2002 & 2003 Champion Miler in Hong Kong. He has a "nasty" habit of running his last 400 m under 22 seconds... and he is a well bred horse.

Topic: Shipping Mares and foals question...

I think it all depends on the road, on the weather, customs... Last year I shipped my mare abroad (650 km) and I crossed 2 borders with 2 differnet customs' protocol. It was March and it was freezing the first week after the foaling. So I decided to wait for the 2. heat (3 weeks after the foaling). ...
