Re: American Pharoah

Good point on CUrlin. His 1st crop was disappointing which was puzzling as his 2 year olds have been stellar since. American Pharoah had a great 1st crop but they dont seem to have developed as 3 year olds

American Pharoah

Saw stats on his 2yr olds and 3yr olds. Is he headed towards being a disappointment. His 2 year olds have won 17% of their races with 5 stakes wins. His three year olds has won at 7% with 1 stake winner. And the 3 yr numbers are with over 60 runners. I know it is early but it is interesting.

Re: The GR I Florida Derby

These are developing horses. At this time Audible, Strike Power, Catholic Boy, and Promises Fulfilled have shown stakes ability. Some will continue to develop; some won't or might be detoured to sprints (Strike Power) or the turf (Catholic Boy). Of the rest of the field Mott's horse seems to have th...

Love for International Racing

I note that no one has posted on this thread in a blue moon so I thought I might put my 4 cents(inflation) in. I have been playing the Aussies for sometime. They are a tough nut to crack. Those punters know what they are doing. In the last year year I have become serious about South American racing....

Re: Fame and Glory died at just 11 years old

Occasionally, I will go on Youtube and look at an historical horse's races that I either missed or forgot. A couple of day ago, my subject was Sea the Stars. And lo and behold fame and Glory was a major adversary. Just saying you were a worthy adversary of Sea the Stars says a lot. RIP.

Re: European horses too soft/slow for dirt

Very provocative post. I have been a little bit of sucker in betting Euros on the dirt in BC races. My modus openendi in doing this has been based on the idea that good horses are good horses and probably can handle any surface. Also, they have had impressive connections who may be taking a shot but...

Re: Tiznow as sire of sires

Maybe a tad off topic but as a handicapper I have noticed that Tiznow's are usually heavily supported when they try the turf the 1st time. They are often coming off solid dirt performance though not always. They do not perform well in this role even if the other side of the pedigree supports the gre...

Ecclesiastic

I have recently become interested in South American racing. I have informed myself about trainers and sires in the region. Certain information I have gathered make sense but Ecclesiatic's prominence in Uruguay as a sire puzzles me. He is a mid-Atlantic sire with no stake wins but thrives in S. Ameri...
