By the way, he was pensioned this year but we still have quite a few years left to enjoy his progeny.

Near enough every commercial bagged feed will have soy in it. Especially those with high protein unless it's soy free. But the balancers are the worst offenders and it's what tipped my horses over the edge. Not all horses have issues with soy. Some of my horses still get commercial feed and they are...

That's interesting Terri. I've heard other stories about reactions to soy both in humans and in horses. It's certainly a suppliment (or ingredient) that I would be very wary of. I went through a host of problems with 3 of my horses (all related). They included fat pads, sore feet, behavorial issues...

I'm really glad your mare is getting looked after properly. Especially in these times where the market has gone through the floor. I know it's bad everywhere but there have been a few yards who had client horses and they let them starve. Haven't heard of any stud farms as such but have heard of a co...

Can I ask quickly what you're feeding? My perfectly healthy inside and out mare quit getting in foal and after a bunch of diagnostics done (which my vet said were useless) I still have a very healthy mare inside. I listened to all the usual weather crap and then did some research and changed feed. P...

MSM can be of some relief and has helped 2 of mine. I wouldn't recommend putting your mare on it now as she is pregnant, but mine have had it from conception til birth and no problems. I just don't like introducing new things while pregnant. There are many triggers for head shaking and no matter wha...

I have a really nice yearling filly by High Chaparral. Here is the mother's pedigree if anyone would like to take a stab at her:

She is also a very heavy bay rabicano so she's quite stunning too!

Sadly, we just lost this guy in Ireland for the Tourbillon line fans: http://www.pedigreequery.com/master+imp He does have a full TB stallion standing at the same stud but haven't got around to getting the info on the mare he is out of. Still one of the few Tourbillon line stallions still going. Terri

I weaned 2 days ago and yesterday Penelope was in no mood for video's or pictures!!! My very mild mannered, very good mannered filly decided she would take her agression out on me by telling me she had never been taught any manners ever! The good news is I had a really good view of her bel...

Yes, she does have a skunk tail and yes under her forearms are quite roany too. She will be up in the pen today as they were just weaned so will get some more pics this morning. The skunk tail is very minor though. I'll get more pics and you can see what you think. She has white hairs pretty much ev...

I also forgot, this girl also has a belly spot smack dab in the middle just behind the forearm, but it then has a stripe that runs all the way back to her udder. Obviously, it's a tad tricky to get a picture of this formation! Donna, would she pass on her Rabicano genes on her own or would she alway...

I also did mean to point out, she actually isn't so "yakky" in person. She's going to be a tall lady and is going through some funky growth spurts. Plus some cows moved in next to her that day and she was all spooked out! Her pedigree is High Chaparral out of Annia Faustina by Docksider. Annia is a ...
