Well, as an update to the distaff, I think we still have the following contenders: Zenyatta Ginger Punch Hystericalady Music Note Indian Blessing Country Star Little Belle If anyone has any additions or updates, feel free to edit the list. This will still be an intriguing race IMO. Everything I've ...

She did not beat ginger punch she toyed with her I was there live they are not on the same level talent wise I was also at Oaklawn on the rail and Zenyatta easily cruised in that race. Her power was breathtaking. I am a huge fan of Ginger Punch, but it surely seems strange to me that her form retur...

I was on the rail between the 1/16th pole and finish line for the Apple Blossom. Zenyatta is ALL THAT. I went specifically to Oaklawn to see her and boy, she made a nice day a totally memorable one. A stunningly beautiful filly, this was just her 4th race. If' you've read where she's 16.3 and 1200 l...

A good friend of mine told me about this race. She has seen some of the great ones over the years, but she was emotional about this horse. He must have turned in one hell of a performance. Congrats to all his connections!!! I was at Oaklawn for Zenyatta's race and wasn't able to see it on t.v. I loo...

Zenyatta

Is there a thread about this filly? I apologize in advance if I overlooked it. Did anyone else see her race in the El Encino on Sunday? What a tremendous filly she appears to be and she is still learning the game. Great connections to have given her the time to grow up and mature some. She is one to...

Classy filly, for sure. She's the maternal grandmother to Yes It's True.

Re: Tendon Treatments

I have been amazed at how effective stem cell treatment has been in helping horses with tendon injuies. My daughter is taking reining lessons on a horse that recovered from a very serious (formerly career ending) injury in 12 weeks. http://www.vet-stem.com I know this treatment is expensive and wil...

I have always had a soft spot for Wilko. Love those horses that try.
But, I really loved Brass Hat's effort. His first time at 1 1/4 miles and after the comeback he's launched, absolutely a gutsy and courageous performance.

Re: OCD

I have had a filly with a cyst in the stifle joint which is the normal position and not uncommon. The cause of cysts is not entirely clear. There is some evidence of fast growth rates being a contributory factor and some have speculated that it is hereditary. Neither of these applied to my filly ( ...

OCD in hip on yearling filly

Was wondering if anyone has ever had any experience with OCD. This is a new one for me, especially since my vets have said it is very rare to find it in a hip joint. My filly is a year old. She's a big, leggy filly and I think the fast growth rate contributes to this. I will be talking to a vet at A...

Hi Shammy, This filly is with my trainer, so I don't see her but every couple of weeks. She had acquired a bobo on her left back leg and has been seen by two vets in the last couple of weeks. To me, when I look straight on at this filly's front legs, her left hoof appears to me that it could belong ...

Hi Shammy, Thank you for your reply. This filly is in an awkward stage and perhaps that is the basis for my indecisive description. I definitely hope this is part of her growth, as her mother and dad are straight in this area. Could you please tell me what physitis is? For sure, I am not going to pu...
