Posters and Readers,
Has anyone out there seen Spring at Last at Winstar? I'd be interested to hear specifics about his physicals, as well as his general demeanor.
Thanks for the info.

just give credit
I would like to echo BenB. The Euros don't run on Pro-Ride, so it's a new surface for them. Running the BC on Pro-Ride just gave everyone an excuse for their horse losing (i.e., the comment that Ventura would never have gone by Indian Blessing on dirt -- how do we know that?). Haven't we all heard t...

I've heard his babies are very good overall, and that they have good minds. Leroi was a great turf runner with non-American bloodlines, and we know how sires who made their name on turf are discounted -- perhaps his initial fee at $25k was a little high because of that. I assume that Stonewall was h...

winning Pine Bluff mare in foal to Kafwain -- for sale
I have a young (1999) winning Pine Bluff mare, Sister Fox, who is in foal to the very good first-crop sire Kafwain ($10k stud fee, may go up) on an early April cover. The family is solid and a very good racing family. Her dam is black-type. The mare gets in foal very easily. I know nothing about her...

NY members: Breeders' sale and Read the Footnotes
Hey everyone out in New York -- I was browsing the on-line catalog for the NY Breeders' Sales Company sale next month. Lakland North is selling off a lot of stock. Does anyone have an impression of Read the Footnotes' babies, what they look like, how they're generally being talked about by the horse...

officer, jump start and zavata
Since I have an Officer weanling colt in the Ocala sale next month, I was really happy with how his yearlings sold, obviously. The prices do go up when a stallion's runners are really winning big, which is what I was hoping for! Those yearlings were bred on a $12,500 stud fee, though he jumped to $1...

If you've seen Jump Start, you'll know why people chose to breed to him -- he's gorgeous. He was a big A.P. Indy son who was precocious, which usually doesn't happen with that sire line. Yes, he had a bad leg injury and yes, the family hasn't been sound, but if you take a sound mare with good legs t...

thunder gulch
Hey everybody, It looks like Thunder Gulch is on a roll. His excellent two-year-olds are coming from the mare crop he bred after Point Given was horse of the year in 2001. I'm forgetting the details of his stud career -- wasn't he shipped overseas before his first crops even raced or something? And ...
