Are stallions owners really breeding thier stallion to 400 mares? I have to agree that is pretty outragous. I know most of the top QH stallions are limited to 100 at the most (that i know of). I never realized that TB breeders could not AI. I do have lots of TB blood in my QH's but i admit i really ...

Ok. I was under the assumption that older mares were not DNA'd. My colts dam is 24 and she is not dna'd. Though he is 5 now. My broodmare had a colt 2 years ago i did not have to dna her. Now i got a letter the other day saying i have to dna her now to register the colt she's gonna have this spring.

Yes i agree but the point i was trying to make is that with AI you have to DNA test. With live cover you dont depending on the mares age.

I realize that this is a older topic but i have to stick up for the QH breeders when it comes to AI'ing. To ai our mares we have to have a dna on the mare and the stallion to register them, so we know excatly what we are getting and no chance of not getting our mare bred to a inferior stallion by mi...
