Discreet Cat

Any opinions on the soundness of Discreet Cat's foals? It seems many of his headline horses have been sidelined or have had issues after a few starts - Out of Bounds, Discreet Dancer, Mamma Kimbo. Discreet Cat only had 9 starts over 3 years.

Heard good things about Earl Begley and Leigh Delacour. Both tend to run more on turf.

He seems to be a sex-biased sire who throws much better fillies than colts. 24 filly stakes winners compared to 9 colt stakes winners. Another anomaly is that his TGI number on Thorograph is lower for fillies than colts.

Curlin should be worth more than $20 million when compared to Vineyard Haven's $12 million. Granted the $12 million is inflated due to Godolphin's goal of winning the Derby. With his breeding, his worth of as a stallion is minimal compared to Curlin. The 2 big negatives to Curlin would be his averag...

I have a weanling by him who I like. He is correct and big. Hopefully El Prado proves to be a sire of sires. Medaglia D'oro is off to a good start. AS's bottom line is solid but seems to throw better fillies. Ferdinand is from the family and was a bust as a sire. Artie Schiller had decent early spee...

Vinny's Wild Tale won the 5th at Saratoga on Thursday. That was the first time I heard of West Acre. He was obviously a Claiborne castoff by his bottom. The farm manager where he is standing did not know why he was unraced. At the end of 2007, he had a decent AEI to CI Index (1.43 to 1.28) without a...

Trainer - Leigh Delacour

Does anybody have any knowledge of Leigh Delacour and her husband Arnaud as trainers? She is stabled at Fair Hill and used to work for Barclay Tagg and Graham Motion. He used to work for Christophe Clement.

I second the Disco Rico recommendation. Citidancer goes great with Pleasant Colony and you have a Hail to Reason/Round Table cross in generations 4 and 6 - another great nick.
