Re: February Fasig Tipton Kentucky!
I was shocked at hip 491 - he was an Overanalyze colt, but blank first and second dam. He looked the part, but hard to tell from a t.v. screen, so physical must of been what sold him for $18,000.

Re: An interesting coincidence
I reviewed the stud and the mares and think you have found an interesting parallel there. I will be interested to follow to see how this plays out and translates into performance on the track. I was also more interested in the stories behind the stallion and the mare Express to Boston. It simply ama...
Re: Mohaymen
Tapiture - not sure if you are breeding to sell or breeding to race - but he sold well above his stud fee. If you get a goldmine nick of 20/20 - you get a 10% discount. Worth investigating.

Breed Secure vs. Foal Share
I have been offered either a breed secure or a foal share to a first year $15,000 stallion. The mare was less than stellar racehorse, but comes from a good female family. Her 1/2 brother is a multiple g2/g3 placed turf horse that has placed 2nd to the likes of Messi. The mare is 9 years old and neve...

Total Outcross Broodmare
I have the good fortune to pick up a really interesting broodmare that is a total outcross of bloodlines for Mr. Prospector, Storm Cat, Seattle Slew, Secretariat, A P Indy, etc. The only two duplicates that show in the first 5 generations are Damascus 4x5 (harder to find these days) and Kankankee Mi...

Re: Thoughts on this breeding plan please.
I certainly wouldn't write off Lemon Drop Kid. If you look at his performance as both a sire and a broodmare sire - he is one of those under the radar and the nice thing is he can be just as influential on dirt as turf. He appeals to both the American and European market - more than Kitten's Joy it ...

Re: Distorted Humor & Lemon Drop Kid - 2 BC winners each
Not to mention - Unbridled Forever is out of Unbridled's Song by a Lemon Drop Kid mare. And she showed her ability in closing in on Songbird and Beholder.

Re: Older graded stakes producing mare worth the investment
Thanks for all your feedback. Her Zensational colt "uncl B" has logged a good work from the gate at 47.6. Her daughter has been need to Curlin. I will pursue the breeding soundness exam. She has been a producer and this last year was not managed well as the new owner died and kids wanted n...

Re: Older graded stakes producing mare worth the investment
Hello - you are spot on with my concerns - they echo mine. I will be boarding her in order to keep her in Kentucky as I live in Nebraska. I get a great deal on my boarding at $17 a day for mare and for mare with foal at side. So for 24 months of board it would be $12,648. Then there is the foaling f...

Older graded stakes producing mare worth the investment
Hello - I have an opportunity to buy a 16 year old stakes placed, graded stakes (G3 placed and G1 placed in Ballerina stakes) producing mare. The mare is part of a dispersal sale and was put out to me privately as the owner has died. She was vet checked in foal in June to Stay Thirsty, but on the pr...

Re: Are Tapit mares a good investment
Thanks - the dam of the mare was sent to Ven. in foal and her offspring have won graded stakes races there - but that is almost like winning a stakes race at Fonner Park - it doesn't carry a great deal of weight - even though one is a G1 winner there. But thank you for the advice - I'm going to do a...

Smooth Roler
Hello Everyone - I always forget this memo board exists - shame on me. I have tried for some time now to find out the status of Smooth Roller - he won the G1 Awesome Again stakes last fall to earn a spot in the Breeder's Cup against American Pharoah after only his 4th career start, but was scratched...
